On behalf of the community groups and recipients of this year's Stuff-a-Sock 'socks', we would like to extend our biggest, most heartfelt thanks, to you, our donors. Your donations, time and generosity have once again made this endeavour a success.As a result of your kindness, we received over 600 fully stuffed stockings, supplies to stuff roughly 200 more and over $7,000 in monetary donations to offset the remaining costs associated with shipping, and the filling of our remaining orders! We have tallied our requests and are seeking your help in filling over 1700 stockings for the vulnerable adults of our province. Stuff-a-Sock 2015 has launched!

For the past 7 years, United Way has teamed up with charities and workplaces across the province to coordinate its annual Stuff-a-Sock Campaign. Originally established as a street reach program, the campaign has evolved over the years to focus on those most vulnerable adults in our province. This population includes home-bound seniors, single parents, individuals living with mental illness, and the original target of the campaign, street reach. Community Fund Distribution Event - Thursday, August 27

(St. John’s, NL – August 25, 2015) United Way Newfoundland and Labrador will distribute $525,000 to 46 community organizations this coming Thursday, August 27 during its Community Fund Distribution Event. United Way distributes $525,000 in grants!

We are pleased to announce the official 2015 Community Fund Grant Recipients! Using funds from the 2014 Workplace Campaign, specifically donated to our United Way Community Fund, we have distributed $525,000 in grants to 46 different projects and programs across Newfoundland and Labrador. This amount is over and above the funds that were funneled through United Way to other charities through our donor choice program. United Way Announces 2014 Campaign Total

On April 16th, 2015 we held our Campaign Celebration where we announced our fundraised total from our 2014 Campaign. We once again surpassed our previous year's total and thanks to our wonderful donors, we raised an impressive $1,170,455.47! Throughout the Evening, workplaces who participated during our 2014 campaign were awarded Merit, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum certificates for their contributions. We are now accepting applications for our 2015 Community Fund Grants! Each year, United Way works closely with local companies and government departments to raise funds to invest into various programs and projects throughout the province. Of the funds raised, dollars designated specifically to United Way are made available to Newfoundland and Labrador charities through our Community Fund grants. Community Fund grants disbursed!

In mid-December, Newfoundland & Labrador charities received an early Christmas gift - in the form of United Way Community Fund grants.
