St. John’s, NL - United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador is launching its 3rd Annual Stuff-A-Sock campaign, a part of United Way’s Day of Caring™. Many individuals in our City and our Province are unable to provide the necessities that we often take for granted. To help various organizations and individuals United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador is coordinating a community effort to provide some of these necessities. My name is Brian Shea. I attended the College of the North Atlantic starting in September 2008 doing a pre-employment skills program run by The Vera Perlin Society. The Career Education and Exploration Program or C.E.E. taught me lots about jobs. Like how to get a job, how to keep a job and especially how to be a great worker. I graduated from the C.E.E. program in June 2009. United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador provides funding to Moms For Play. St. Alban’s, NL: United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador, as a part of its Community Fund granting process is presenting a cheque for $25,000 to Moms For Play, a local committee dedicated to working to build a new facility where children can play safely and families can socialize.
