Program: Providing Hot, Nutritious Meals to School Children $9,750 (2015): This program provides hot, nutritious meals to local school children. They operate in 21 schools and serve over 3,000 meals per day to children regardless of a family's financial situation.

Program: Goulds & MacDonald Drive Lunch Program $10,000 (2009): In 2009, Goulds elementary and MacDonald Drive elementary joined the Hot Lunch Program. Funding from United Way was used to purchase stoves, freezers, coolers, dishware, and other kitchen materials.

Program: Hot Lunch Program $3,000 (2007): On any given school day, the School Lunch Association serves approximately 1,500 lunches out of 1 central kitchen and 2 satellite kitchens, employing 17 people. To appeal to the childrens’ different tastes the employees prepare well-balanced nutritious meals for a diverse monthly menu. By sending home a monthly menu and envelope, parents are involved in what their child eats each day at school. To remove any stigma that might be associated with being provided a lunch, all children in the school are given a menu and envelope to be delivered to their parent(s) or guardian(s). The actual amount contributed by each family remains confidential. United Way contributed to this initiative.
