Libra House



Libra House believes that women and children have the right to a safe, secure environment.  Their mission is to provide a crisis shelter for women and their children affected by abuse and to encourage empowerment of women in the community through caring support and education.

Program: Staff Training $8,000 (2017): This program provides training for all staff on cultural sensitivity, updating mental health and addictions, and truama informed care.

Funding from United Way was used to fund facilities rental, food costs, training materials, facilitation costs, and travel costs associated with the program.

Program: 
Supportive Housing Project $10,000 (2016): This project built  affordable, supportive housing for women with children who are leaving our Emergency Shelter

Funding from United Way was used towards the final $100,000 required to complete the Capital Build
