Bowring Park Foundation



The Bowring Park Foundation (BPF) is a charitable foundation established in 1995 to assist the City of St. John's in the restoration, preservation and future development of Bowring Park.  The goal of the Foundation is to ensure the development of a "public garden for quiet family enjoyment" as envisioned by its Honorary Patron, Derrick Bowring.

Program: Aquatic Chair Lift - Bowring Park Pool $9,908 (2017): The new aquatic chair lift will give children and adults with impaired mobility increased access to the Bowring Park Pool.

Program:
Fully Wheelchair Accessible Playground $25,000 (2008): To help adapt the playground to be truly an accessible playground in which children with special needs are able to enjoy and fully use the area, eliminating barriers and allowing full intergration.

Funding from United Way was used towards the cost of rubber surfacing of the walkway and playground.
